It's been a month since I've finished it, but I've forgotten to share my information on my first draft of the novel (I number my drafts starting at zero so there's a rough before this). It came out to 105,225 words, (right in the ballpark I was aiming for) a 37% increase in word count over rough draft. Page count is now 534, also a 37% increase over the rough draft's 390 pages. My only disappointment was that it took a year to finish editing the first go-around. I'll be on vacation in the coming week, so even though it's called a vacation, I'm REALLY going to buckle down and this book will be my 9-5 job during it. Here's to hoping I won't go nuts. The stack is much beefier than it looked a year ago.
